Deny, Defend, Deflect, Delay...Intimidate...Delay...Intimidate...Delay...

It is pathetic when a Dare County Commissioner incites threats against the NC legislative body on his Facebook page using rhetoric and false information.  It should be criminal, if it is not, that he has allowed threats against the legislative body to stay up on his Facebook page for two days...and counting.

Way to go Steve House- Dare County Commissioner. (See screen shot below from Steve House's Facebook page.)

I hope members of the House understand what many of us who have been fighting for fisheries reform have faced for twenty plus years.  The typical methods of  deny, defend, deflect and delay are always followed with intimidation to help bring more delay.  Many of us have experienced intimidation including personal threats and damaged property.

The legislature created this problem and it will have to solve it.  Sooner rather than later will best serve the citizens of NC.

I thank all 58 House members who voted to move H483 (Let Them Spawn) forward.  Hopefully the Senate will do the same.  It is a great first step in supporting sustainable fisheries management that benefits all the citizens of NC, not just those scavenging our public trust resources for personal profit.

Very patriotic…and Christian-like……  Way to go Steve House! Confused

Unconscionable. A public official allowing a message on his site calling for the murder of legislators. I can think of a number of crimes Willis could be charged with. Someone send to Capital Police. I’m too technologically challenged.

Irony... if it wasn't so blatantly pervasive...

Look at the photo below from the article that Steve House shared on Facebook-" rel="nofollow -

Here is a photo of the F/V Henry Earl that I took last year-

While to blurry to make out very well in the photo.  This is a SC vessel trawling in NC waters...doing here what they are not allowed to do in SC.

...and doing so probably in violation of NC statute and Rule while using an assigned SCFL.

§ 113-170.1.  Nonresidents reciprocal agreements.

Persons who are not North Carolina residents are not eligible to obtain licenses under the provisions of this Article except as provided in this section. Residents of jurisdictions that sell commercial fishing licenses to North Carolina residents are eligible to hold North Carolina commercial fishing licenses under the provisions of G.S. 113-168.2. Licenses may be restricted in terms of area, gear, and fishery by the Commission so that the nonresidents are licensed to engage in North Carolina fisheries on the same or similar terms that North Carolina residents can be licensed to engage in the fisheries of other jurisdictions. The Secretary may enter into reciprocal agreements with other jurisdictions as necessary to allow nonresidents to obtain commercial fishing licenses in the State subject to the foregoing provisions. What a schmuck Steve House proves to be! But beyond name calling, I have copied the link to a short treatise on entrenched vested interests, and how they guarantee failure wherever they hold sway over public resources or venues of commerce, which covers some ground, and is fully relevant to our fisheries condition, although the author, Charles Hugh Smith, is writing about the college finance racket:      I hope this brings a small bit of edification to those among us who think fishing reports should be footnoted with attributions to the industries(political operators, and commercial fishing lobby) which bring us to the need to understand this crap. Without these racketeering entities doing their damnedest, we might have enjoyed a simple life, just fishing. Ah, but the dissemination of truth is nonetheless worthwhile, insomuch as it disabuses one from living in the dream that all is just peachy in good ol' different- we ain't that different at all when you look for the creeps who "gore the ox to spoil the grain". My apologies to God for paraphrasing his biblical platitude!
