No set backs. 10 acre max per individual parcel with 50 acre total.

Proposed legislation would have gone to 50 acre individual parcel max and 200 acre total. These would have been no contiguous but the setback was not defined.

Do adjoining leases actually touch, or do they have to leave access between, like a set-back from a property line?

Anyone that has been wondering what a 40 acre contiguous shellfish lease might look like can get a pretty good picture here: http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/mf/100918-wanchese-maps

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing on proposed shellfish leases in Hyde County at 6 p.m. Oct. 24, 2018 at the Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department, 34545 U.S. 264, Engelhard.

Wanchese Fish Company, Inc. (Joseph Daniels, agent) has applied for four adjoining shellfish bottom leases – one 9.99 acres, one 9.47 acres, one 9.49 acres, and one 9.87 acres – in Pamlico Sound.
