Nov 8: Citation Pompano in November?
And Plenty of Big Healthy Speckled Trout Too!
By Captain Marty Moore Top Water Charters
Another weirdo day of fishing. We ran out of live shrimp early. Then the Trout started chewing. Shrimp, of course!
We scarpped out a 20 fish limit. A few on live bait, the rest on about $100 worth of Gulps that the Pins and Blues seemed very fond of. Our Trout ranged from 18" to 20" or 2-3 pounders, whichever you prefer.
What made today interesting was my 2 lb. 4 oz Pompano and my 4 lb. 12 oz Flounder and Mark's pretty Black Drum. We also caught many more Flounders, Sheepsheads, Blues, Pins, Hogs, Groupers, and Sea Bass.
10-15 NW wind was more like 10+15 NW wind early, it did calm down later in the afternoon. Lots of nets off Shackleford Banks are catching the biggest Sea Mullets you'll ever see (I saw one 2 lb. 14 oz on my hook once, these are bigger!!!) and plenty of Spots.
That's my report for today.
